The Chaplain's Page

Greetings Band families!

I'm Michelle Bauer, mother of 4, including Junior French Horn player Matthew, and I am excited to be the CHS Band Chaplain this year.

My family, church, leadership and service experiences during our 8 years in Coppell have molded me into a rather spiritual gal.  You can see why I'm anxious to tackle this position head on.  You will spot me monthly at the Band Booster meetings, opening with a devotional or spirit raiser.  For those of you unable to attend a meeting, check back to this page frequently for my updated devotional.

We're off to a great start with our CHS Band Booster Prayer Chain.  If you would like to receive an occasional (weekly at the most) e-mail from me, including prayers for the safety of our students as they practice, rehearse, perform, travel, and compete during the year as well as any other concerns expressed by our band families, I will gladly include your name with our list.  All that is needed is your name and e-mail to michbauer@verizon.net This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

If you have any thoughts or concerns you would like to be included in the prayer chain, please e-mail me as well and let me know.  It is important that I know if I share this information with your name included or if you prefer to be listed as an anonymous submission.

As our kiddos get geared up for 3 weeks of intense Band Camp, please keep in mind the effort and dedication it takes for them to put 110% into their instrument and marching for 7.5+ hours each day.  Help them keep hydrated, remind them to get plenty of rest, try not to complain when you have to take them to practice-AGAIN!

Just think of how proud you will be as they perform their first show the end of August.

I think Theodore Roosevelt spoke well when he expressed the following...

The men and women who have the right ideals...
are those who have the courage to strive for the happiness
which comes only with labor and effort and self-sacrifice,
and those whose joy in life springs in part from power of work and sense of duty.
